Volunteers are needed to help restore part of the bank of West Nose Creek to a more naturalized state and higher functionality. Email Simone at [email protected] or Anne at [email protected] for more information and to sign up. Calgary River Valleys (CRV) will be planting the native shrubs in the left picture into the mostly monoculture of invasive grasses in the right picture, on a section of the south side of the creek west of Hidden Creek Drive NW. Contact us to join us on October 20 through 24 (and potentially a few days beyond). We may not be planting on each date, as this event is weather dependent. Or feel free to bring your own work gloves and planting tools, but CRV will have some you can borrow. We’ll also provide a port-a-potty and some food and beverages for all volunteers. This project is approved by City of Calgary Parks, and is funded by a Watershed Resiliency and Restoration Program grant provided by the Government of Alberta.
